Simeox produced by PhysioAssist

The Simeox device is necessary for patients who require assistance in clearing their airways because their mucociliary transport is not functional, resulting in mucus accumulation and stagnation. These patients may cough but cannot effectively mobilize secretions. Here we primarily refer to patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, and severe forms of asthma.

The Simeox device aids patients in exhalation by providing mechanical conditions under which bronchial secretions dissolve to facilitate their transport and removal from smaller airways to central airways, ensuring patient comfort. The vibrations of the unique Simeox technology (mechanical stimulus) have the ability to temporarily 'break' the electrical bonds of mucins in the mucin protein, thereby affecting the secretions' ability to flow.
